A Senior Inspector of Economic Offenses Wing of Thane Crime Branch (EOW) said that an FIR has been registered against the accused. Raviraj Samani, for fraud in January 2020.
Samani had set up a cooperative credit society and accepted investments from citizens promising attractive returns. Police said that he fled without even returning the invested amount.
The inspector said that as per the preliminary investigation, the accused duped at least 90 people to the tune of Rs 1,30,15,622.
