Thane: Police arrested a person for allegedly forging documents of MMRDA flats in Mumbra for the people affected due to road widening project.
Police said that the accused Imran Juneja alias Munna MerchantMILF native Gujarat, has been arrested.
The police received information that a person was indulging in malpractice and was allegedly using forged documents in allotment of flats. They were suspected of taking money and giving fake allotment letters to people who are not even Project Affected Persons (PAPs).
“Raids were conducted at the residence of the accused and several forged documents were seized from his possession,” the police said.
About 18 allotment letters have been received from the accused for such people who are not even PAPs.
Other items seized include 91 MMRDA booklets, 21 government stamps, 24 MMRDA stickers, 5 stamp pads, a diary, a printer.
computerized keys, which are in the possession of Thane Municipal CorporationIt has also been recovered from the accused. This is making the police suspect the role of insiders in the scam.
