Thane Police took action against Ganesh Mandal for using objectionable decorations. Thane News – Times of India

Kalyan: The Thane police, while taking action against a Ganesh Mandal in Kalyan for making objectionable decorations, confiscated the decoration material.
The police have also registered an FIR against the representative of Mandal under sections 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot) and 505 (statement causing mischief in public) of the Indian Penal Code.
Vijay Tarun Mandal is 59 years old. This year, Mandal had prepared decorations on the organizational disintegration of Shiv Sena.
The Mandal is run by Uddhav-backed Shiv Sena leader Vijay Salvi.
Every year, the circle creates a decoration based on the latest developments. Since partition was a new topic in Shiv Sena this year, a decoration was made on the issue.
Mandal had targeted leaders who broke away from Shiv Sena this year through decorations without naming any leader, saying how they took advantage of Shiv Sena like a fruit-bearing tree.
Reacting to the police action, Mandal’s trustee and Shiv Sena leader Vijay Salvi said, “Every year, our Mandal prepares decorations on important events of the year. This year the Shiv Sena party faced a major split, on the same subject. The decorations were done. The decorations and nothing objectionable but we are shocked by the police action like Hitler.”
Salvi further said, “In view of the police action, we have decided not to celebrate Ganesh Utsav this year and we will move the High Court against the police action.”
The police, however, said that Mandal has made objectionable decorations several times in the past and because of this action has been taken in the past as well.
When asked on the issue, Thane Police’s Zone 3 Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Gunjal said, “The Mandal was earlier issued a notice not to use any objectionable material in decorations, but despite the notice, they used objectionable material.” Due to which action has been taken and an FIR has also been registered.”
Meanwhile, there is anger among Shiv Sainiks in the city due to the police action.
