“Thank You”: Arvind Kejriwal To Tamil Nadu’s MK Stalin For Letter To PM

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raising his voice against the arrest of AAP leader Manish Sisodia by the CBI.

Taking to Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said, “Thank you so much Thiru Stalin. We are grateful for your support.”

On Tuesday, Mr Stalin wrote a letter to PM Modi and said he was saddened and disappointed by the arrest of Manish Sisodia and all the pain and pressure the latter had to go through for depriving him of constitutional guarantees.

“Note may be taken of the fact that in the last 9 years, wherever the interests of the party in power at the Center are involved, the independence of the investigative agencies has been plundered,” Stalin wrote in a letter to the PM.

MK Stalin had stressed on the misuse of investigative agencies and constitutional offices and said that Sisodia’s arrest would be remembered as a ‘Black Day’ under the BJP rule in the Union.

“I wish to remind you that the misuse of investigative agencies and constitutional offices including the office of the Governor can never strengthen a vibrant democracy in India and the arrest of Thiru Manish Sisodia and terrorizing the due process of law is a day to be remembered forever.” Will go.” Black day under BJP rule in the Union,” his letter read.

“I hope you will agree that different ideologies and multiple political parties are the heartbeat of Indian democracy. Similarly, the rule of law and individual liberty are the cornerstone of our criminal justice system. While this is the case, I am sorry and Disappointed to know that Manish Sisodia, the elected Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has been arrested on false charges and has to go through all the pain and pressure while being deprived of the constitutional guarantee of personal liberty.

MK Stalin further said in his letter that atrocities such as raids on leaders of opposition parties, misusing the anti-defection law to oust elected governments and instigating investigative agencies to arrest opposition leaders or leaders inconvenient to the BJP Are. Chief Minister MK Stalin had appealed to PM Modi to take all steps to preserve the residual prestige of premier investigative agencies and constitutional offices, especially in the office of the Governor, during the last nine years of BJP rule in the Union and Manish Instruct release. Manish Sisodia was recently arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy of the GNCTD.

Mr Sisodia was arrested on February 26 in an ongoing probe into a case related to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy of the GNCTD.

On Monday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court sent him to judicial custody till March 20.

Special Judge MK Nagpal on Monday sent Sisodia to judicial custody for 14 days, noting that the CBI had not sought his further custody at this point of time, but may seek it later if required.

Manish Sisodia has been allowed to take prescribed medicines at his MLC conducted by CBI officials.

He has also been allowed to carry a pair of spectacles, a diary, a pen and a copy of the Gita during the judicial custody period.

As requested by Mr. Sisodia, the court had directed the Jail Superintendent to consider the request to keep the accused in a Vipassana room/meditation room.

During the hearing the CBI said that it did not support the investigation, and the witnesses were intimidated.

The CBI had said, “His party and leaders are politicizing the case and various important witnesses are to be examined.”

On the last date, the court issued notice to the CBI on the bail plea filed by Manish Sisodia and listed the matter for March 10, 2023.
