The biggest supermoon of 2022 is going to be visible tonight. A total of four full supermoons will be visible this year and the third will be visible this week. The next supermoon will appear on August 12, according to NASA,

A supermoon occurs when a full Moon is within 90 percent of its circumference or the point where the Moon is closest to Earth in its orbit. Due to this astronomical phenomenon, the Moon appears larger and brighter than usual.

NASA said that the supermoon will be visible on Wednesday, July 13 and will be seen for the next three days. People around the world will be able to watch it by early Friday.

July supermoon is also called Buck Supermoon Because this is the time when new horns of deer or male deer emerge from their forehead. These deer shed their horns every year which regrow. A supermoon is also called a thunder moon because this early summer is often accompanied by thunderstorms.

The brightest supermoon or Buck Moon will begin brightening Wednesday at 2:38 PM EDT or 12:08 IST (Thursday). It will be visible for three consecutive days and the supermoon can be seen by Friday morning. “The next full moon will be Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 2022, visible opposite the Sun in Earth-based longitude at 2:38 p.m. EDT. It will be east from India Standard Time Zone to the International Date Line on Thursday morning.” NASA written on its official website.
