The business of Rajya Sabha went on without any disruption after 12 sittings.

The Rajya Sabha functioned for a plenary meeting on Wednesday without any disruption, which marked the last 12 sittings of the current monsoon session. Congress members, however, walked out at the end of the meeting raising an issue that was not related to the ongoing business. Veteran sportsperson PT Usha gave his first speech in the House while speaking on the National Anti-Doping Bill, which was in discussion for nearly six hours.

The Rajya Sabha Secretariat said that during the first week of this session, the productivity of Rajya Sabha was 27 per cent, which further fell to 17 per cent in the second week. Seven special mentions were also made in the House. Officials said this is only the third time that a special mention could be made in 13 sittings of this session.
