Delhi Police has arrested five members of a gang, including three women, for allegedly extorting money from their targets after filming them in a compromising position. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

Police said the arrests were made in Dabri area of ​​the south-west part of the city based on a complaint lodged by a businessman on Saturday.

The businessman said that he had received a call from a woman asking him to buy plyboard. On Thursday, when he reached Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri, he received a WhatsApp call. Five minutes later she came on an e-rickshaw and took him to a house. A senior police officer said that she gave him a glass of water and after drinking it, he fainted.

After regaining consciousness, he found himself naked on the bed. Five-six women and three men present in the room started beating her. They asked for Rs 15,700 in her purse, a wristwatch, a gold ring and Rs 7 lakh more and threatened to kill her, the officer said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shankar Choudhary said that during the investigation, the police gathered information about the possible whereabouts of the gang members and arrested them.

During interrogation, it was revealed that one of the accused used to search the mobile numbers of the target on online dating applications. The DCP said she used to provide her mobile number to another gang member, who used to invite Lakshya to a woman’s residence.

Police said that one of the gang members would come into a compromising position with the target and the others would sneak into the room.

Members will appear as a judge or legal counsel, an NGO member and a neighbor and family members of the woman who will have sex with the victim. Police said that all of them extorted the victim on the pretext of registering a false case of rape.
