Former Supreme Court Justice S Abdul Nazeer has been appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. The current Governor, Biswa Bhushan Harichandan has been transferred as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.

Justice (retd) Nazeer is the third Governor of Andhra Pradesh. ESL Narasimhan served as the first governor of Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state in 2014. Mr. Harichandan took charge as the second Governor on 24 July 2019.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy through a Twitter message on February 12 (Sunday) congratulated Justice (Retd) Nazeer on his appointment.

Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy said that it was a privilege to receive Justice (Retd.) Nazeer. “I look forward to working with you to explore Andhra Pradesh’s full potential. Welcome sir!” They said.

In a separate message on Twitter, the chief minister said he had the privilege of working with the current governor, Biswa Bhushan Harichandan. He thanked them for the services rendered to our state and will always cherish our fruitful association with them. I wish him all the best in his new role as the Governor of Chhattisgarh,” said Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy.

National President of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N. Chandrababu Naidu also congratulated the new governor. “Justice Abdul Nazeer is known to be a man of integrity and probity. I am sure he will be at the forefront of defending the values ​​of democracy enshrined in our Constitution. Wish him much success! Mr. Naidu said.

Finance Minister Bugna Rajendranath Reddy also welcomed the Governor.
