In the age of social media, we often see certain food trends or recipes that take the internet by storm. Be it rainbow colored food or hyperreal cakes, there are plenty of recipes that pique the curiosity of the internet as well as garner millions of views. While we enjoy cooking and trying new recipes that are going viral online, there are some cooking trends that don’t sit well with us. Foodies recently took to Reddit to discuss what current cooking trends in the future would seem to be extremely rebellious. The post was originally shared by user u/AndShesNotEvenPretty in the subreddit r/cooking. Thousands of likes, comments and reactions flooded Post. Talking about revisiting old recipes, the user wrote, “It’s amusing to look back on old trends and realize how much our tastes have changed.” The recipe from the old days was from a subreddit called r/oldRecipes, which featured flavorful recipes made from gelatin and iceberg lettuce. “Many of them seem unsuitable by today’s standards. It got me thinking, what do we eat now that future generations will find unattainable,” she wondered in the post.
