Modi to unveil statue of 11th century reformer and Vaishnava saint Ramanujacharyalu on February 5

Work is in full swing on the 216-feet tall statue of 11th century reformer and Vaishnava saint Ramanujacharyalu, which will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 5 at Tridandi Chinna Jeera Swamy’s 40-acre ashram in Muchintal.

The ‘Statue of Equality’, as it is called, was being installed on the occasion of the 1,000th birth anniversary of Ramanujacharyalu. It was made by Aerospun Corporation in China from panchaloha, a combination of gold, silver, copper, brass and zinc, and shipped to India. It was the second largest in the world in the seating position of the saint.

The monument will be surrounded by 108 ‘Divya Desams’ of Sri Vaishnavism tradition (model temples) like Tirumala, Srirangam, Kanchi, Ahobhilam, Bhadrinath, Muktinath, Ayodhya, Brindavan, Kumbakonam and others. Sculptures of deities and structures were constructed in the shape of existing temples. The idols were also painted.

The base building, which was 16.5 meters tall, had a meditation hall, where a 54-inch statue of Ramanujacharyalu, made of 120 kg gold, representing his years, would be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on February 13 by performing the first puja. . The inner sanctum was meant for daily worship by the deities.

The work of beautification is in full swing at Shri Ram Nagar where the ashram was located.

The 45 feet high dynamic water fountain in front of the statue was being painted with colours. The construction of fountain, laser show, modern lighting and sound system is almost complete.

The main temple at the base, the stairs leading to the statue around the walls and the rock pillars were painted. A large fountain and bright lights were finalized around the idol.

Well-carpeted interior streets, majestic floors and a garden with flowers and medicinal plants add to the ambience.

The 13-day event, which runs from February 2 to February 14, will see a display of the holy fire daily. The shed for the fire and the cow dung cakes to go into it were built by about 500 workers. There were 144 sheds made of bamboo and palm branches.

In the morning and evening sessions, 1,035 pits will be set ablaze by around 5,000 Ritvik and Vedic pundits from across the country. Road widening work from Bangalore Highway to Sriram Nagar on one side and Sangiguda intersection near Pedda Golconda went on at a high speed of more than nine km.

Another road, more than eight kilometers wide, from Bengaluru Highway to Pedda Shahpur Thanda Crossroads, Golur and Ameerpet is almost complete. Management

The officials of Mission Bhagirath have made arrangements for the supply of 15 lakh liters of drinking water to the ashram.

Long forms of cow dung made with special machines were baked in incense for use in the holy fire. The cake was later preserved in plastic bags.

Four kilograms of cow’s ghee will be used for the rituals in each fire pit. There are nine pits in each shed.
