The newly recognized state song ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha’ will be played on February 27, the first day of the session.

A government release on Wednesday said that the budget session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly will run from February 27 to March 25 and the state budget for the financial year 2023-24 will be presented on March 9.

This will be the first budget of the Eknath Shinde-led government, which parted ways with the Shiv Sena and joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party in June. It said that Deputy Chief Minister and State Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis would present the budget.

The decision on the budget session was taken in the meeting of Business The advisory committee of the Vidhan Sabha, headed by Speaker Rahul Narvekar and Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe, said in the release.

Five bills, which have been cleared by the state cabinet, will be introduced during the budget session, while eight more, which are yet to be cleared, are proposed to be introduced, the statement said.
