The groom shot dead a guest at a wedding in Muzaffarnagar’s Shahpur area following a dispute over a song. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
He said that the deceased has been identified as Zafar Ali and he belonged to the bride’s side.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rural) Atul Srivastava said that people from both sides clashed after objecting to the DJ’s song in the procession.
The ASP said that the groom Iftikhar fired again, injuring Ali.
Ali was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said.
He said that the police have arrested Iftikhar and security has been tightened in the village.
