The Montra brand is the leader in the EV business of TI Cycles

TI Cycles of India, part of the diversified conglomerate Murugappa Group, plans to lead its electric vehicle business in the electric mobility space with its popular brand ‘Montra’, the company said on Friday.

The city-based company said, as a first step it will unveil electric-auto rickshaws and 3W electric cargo vehicles – under the Montra brand – later. The company said it will enter the electric vehicle business under the Montra brand in three segments – last-mile commute, last-mile delivery and personal mobility. TI Cycles said that under its ‘last-mile’ commute segment, TI Cycles’ first venture will be a three-wheeler electric auto, which is expected to be unveiled by the first quarter of FY22-23.

Under the ‘last-mile’ delivery segment, 3W electric cargo vehicles will be introduced. The company said that e-bicycles were already unveiled in the personal mobility segment.

With best-in-class EVs, TI Cycles said it plans to improve the quality of life of people through eco-friendly mobility solutions.
