Form of words:

Kolkata: The post-poll violence in West Bengal had left BJP workers BJP’s new state president Sukanta Majumdar said the party is desperate but trying to regain its trust and the workers are ready to fight the “Taliban Trinamool Congress”.

In an interview with ThePrint, Majumdar also said that this time not only BJP workers but also the people of Bengal allegedly bore the brunt of the violence, even those who are not active BJP workers.

“…their houses were ransacked, their women were raped, people were murdered. This is a unique situation,” he alleged.

“We have to fight. Our workersOur workers are ready to fight… they need confidence… Obviously we are trying to regain the confidence of our workers. They are daring to go, they are ready to fight the Taliban, Trinamool Congress and save West Bengal.”

Majumdar, who was elected Lok Sabha MP for the first time from Balurghat, was appointed as the BJP state president on September 20, replacing Dilip Ghosh.

Asked how the BJP is gearing up for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls after its humiliating defeat in the assembly polls earlier this year, Majumdar said it was not correct to say that the party faced humiliation.

“From 3 to 77 (seats won by the BJP in the assembly elections) is no joke. I don’t think there is any party in a state like Bengal which has made such a huge leap in such a short span of time. “Yes, we had targeted a very high number of seats but we could not achieve it.”

Majumdar said his priority right now is to prepare the party for the 2024 elections.

“I cannot guess the numbers but our performance will be better than the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” he said. “The people of this country have realized that the only hope for India is Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I am sure people will vote for us.”

Asked how he plans to reorganize the party after the debacle in the assembly polls, Majumdar said the BJP is a regimental party and he will follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Dilip Ghosh.

“The chair is really temporary. I’m here for maybe a stint, maybe even less. Before that, DileepSlave was here. After a few years, someone else will be here. We have a particular ideology, a particular way of working.” “So every President, whoever is given the charge, has to follow that. I am also looking into that… Where from DilipSlave left it. I am following Dileep’s pathSlave Just like he followed the path of his predecessor. ”

Majumdar also said that there has been no mass separation in the BJP since the assembly elections.

“There aren’t many people who are leaving. The main strength of BJP lies in the old workers Those who are fighting… they are with us.’ “We have no problem. Yes, some people joined BJP before the election. They left. They could have stayed. I can’t say why they left.”

‘Want to save West Bengal, national security risk to the state’

On his other priorities, the state BJP president said that he wants to save West Bengal.

“The state of West Bengal is becoming a security threat to the entire country. A lot of organizations are coming here, taking shelter, their armed men are coming and taking shelter,” he claimed. “All this poses a huge threat to the internal security of the country. To save the country, we must first save Bengal.

Majumdar said that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has a habit of doing politics over dead bodies. He was referring to BJP candidate Manas Saha magarhat west He died on Wednesday in South 24 Parganas district. BJP has alleged That he was a victim of the post-election violence.

It has nothing to do with Bhawanipur election. Mamata Banerjee says there is no such thing as post-poll violence. So what happened to this man?” Majumdar asked. “And is there any instance in the country where an opposition candidate has been killed for being a party candidate. Is there any example? Only Maoists have done such things.

The BJP state president also feels that the party has chosen a lightweight candidate to field Priyanka Tibrewal against Mamata Banerjee in the Bhawanipur by-election, this statement of the opposition is not correct.

“Earlier they used to say who is Priyanka Tibrewal? But now Mamata Banerjee is appealing to the public to please come and vote for her otherwise she will not be the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Why is she so worried?” Mazumdar asked.

“I don’t know if there is any problem within his party or not… Maybe some people don’t want him to be the chief minister… Maybe that’s why he is feeling scared…” he said.
