India sees a further drop in its daily Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. The country reported 13,405 new cases of coronavirusAccording to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, the total virus count has gone up to 42,851,929. The daily coronavirus case shave has remained below the 20,000 mark for the last 53 days. Active cases fell to 1,81,075, while the death toll rose to 5,12,344 with 235 fresh fatalities, data updated at 8 am.

The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.42% of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved.
A decrease of 21,056 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a 24-hour period.
The daily positivity rate is 1.24% while the weekly positivity rate is 1.98%. A total of 76.12 crore COVID tests have been conducted so far, out of which 10,84,247 tests were conducted on Monday.
On the vaccination front, India has administered a total of 175.83 crore doses so far. Over 32 lakh (32,03,706) doses of vaccine were administered yesterday. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, cumulatively, 96.15v crore people have been given a single dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 77.71 crore people in the country have received both the shots.
