‘The reaction of the people shows that BJP will form the next government. in Goa’

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a majority in the 40-member Goa Assembly, for which voting will be held on February 14, the party’s state unit chief Sadanand Shet Tanawade said on Saturday.

‘BJP ahead of others’

Addressing a press conference, Mr. Tanawade and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that BJP is ahead of all others as far as campaigning is concerned, with booth level workers already on the ground.

Mr. Tanawade said that the BJP is getting a state-wide response, it is certain that the party will retain power with ease.

“Various political parties are forming pre-poll alliances with the sole aim of defeating the BJP. But the people of Goa have understood this whole game plan.

Mr Sawant said that the people of Goa understand the need for a stable government for development, and their vote was not for the BJP candidate but for a stable and efficient government.

Mr Tanawade said the party’s state election committee, which would recommend the names of candidates, would be constituted on Sunday, and the final list would be announced by the parliamentary board in Delhi.
