“The Right Gateway”: Telangana Minister KTR’s Investment Pitch in London

Minister held a meeting with a delegation from W Midlands India in London yesterday

London:

Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao held a series of meetings with top leadership of various companies in London on Thursday.

In a round table meeting organized by UK India Business Council and Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), KTR interacted with the leaders of the automobile industry and projected the state as an investment destination. The Minister said that Telangana is one of the leaders in the EV revolution.

During the session, the Minister mentioned that Telangana has launched a comprehensive and progressive EV policy.

He said that several major EV companies have already chosen Telangana to set up their facilities. KTR said that the state tops the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) ranking and has a strong ecosystem in defense R&D.

During the day, Lord Karan Billimoria, a renowned British Indian businessman and President of the Confederation of British Industry, hosted KTR in the UK Parliament.

The Minister later interacted with the Parliamentarians, representatives of CII and CBI and the Indo-British APPG. During the interaction, the Minister briefed the MPs and other participants about Telangana’s initiatives and said that the state and Hyderabad are preferred investment destinations for IT, life sciences and pharma, aerospace and defense and food processing sectors.

The Minister held a meeting with a delegation from W Midlands India in London yesterday. The Minister highlighted that India has the best thought power in the world and has enough skilled youth available due to its demographic dividend.

KTR said, “When you choose India for your investment, it is important that you choose the right gateway. Telangana is the state with the best policy environment and also a progressive leadership.”

In another meeting, Paul McPherson and Brad Hilborn of HSBC’s Technology and Strategic Services Group met with Minister KTR in London.

KTR said, “HSBC has a strong presence in Hyderabad. I am happy that HSBC has reiterated its commitment to do more business in Telangana.”

Nandita Sehgal Tully of Thomas Lloyd Group met Minister KTR today. Thomas Lloyd Group is one of the early developers of solar projects in Telangana.

“It is heartening to know that the company is looking to invest more in diverse sectors like solar, energy storage and electric vehicles in the state,” the minister said.

Later, Minister KTR met the leadership team of the Pearson Company and the Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University in two separate meetings in London.
