The Swedish royals put on a scintillating performance as they attended a formal engagement just a few days back Christmas,

Crown Princess Victoria joined her parents King Carl Gustaf and Queen Sylvia at the Swedish Academy’s annual grand ceremony held at the Old Stock Exchange building in Stockholm.

The mother-in-law, 44, stunned in a floor-length green gown with black heels and a fur jacket, while opting to wear her dazzling brunette hair in her signature low bun style.

She completed the look by choosing to accentuate her natural features with a subtle pink blusher on her cheeks and a nude lipstick.

Sweden’s longest-serving queen, Queen Sylvia, led the royal beam with her parents as she wore a fur-trimmed shawl and black dress.

King Carl Gustaf looked equally polished while teaming up with his wife in a black suit with a white shirt and bow tie.

Despite the cold weather forecast, he appeared to be in good spirits and without need for a coat.

Each member of the Swedish royals completed their look by donning a sash, star of the Order of the Seraphim, and the family order of King Carl Gustaf.

The family traditionally comes together every year before Christmas to participate in the annual event.

The Swedish Academy was originally founded in 1786 by King Gustav III. It aims to work on the purity, power and sublime of the Swedish language.

The Academy annually appoints recipients of several awards and scholarships, including deciding who will be the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

This year’s recipients are Ingvar Björksson, who received the Royal Award for the year 2021, Lota Lotas who received the Gerard Bonnier Award for the year 2020 and Susan Osten who was given the Kellgren Award for the year 2021.

Although the Swedish royal family is preparing for festive celebrations, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Sylvia have a busy agenda in the days leading up to Christmas.

The pair are set to attend the Drottingholm Slotsstaters concert at Castle Church in Drottingholm on the 23rd, the same day Queen Sylvia celebrates her 78th birthday.

In the meantime, it’s unlikely we’ll see Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel stepping out again before the holidays.

Like the Queen’s Christmas Day speech, the Swedish royal family issues Christmas messages a few days before the big day where they reflect on that year and the year to come.
