Surat: Police is looking for the driver of the transport company, who is absconding since May 4, leaving the truck carrying a parcel worth Rs 18,26,294.
The driver was to deliver the consignment to the warehouse of a firm owned by the parcel. The complaint was lodged by Chanderpalsinh Rajput (23), manager of Sonam Road Carrier Transport Service.

However Arjun Singh did not reach his destination. This worried Chandrapal Singh who informed the senior officials of the transport company. They tried to contact the driver but his phone was switched off. Neither the driver nor the truck has been found.
On May 9, the transport company officials found the truck abandoned nearby. Kadodara intersection but parcels worth Rs 18.26 lakh were missing. At this point, company officials again tried hard to locate the driver, but they could not. Then he lodged a complaint with the Poona police on Saturday.
The police registered an offense under IPC 407 (to whom the property is being handed over to the carrier). The investigation was going on.
