The cement concrete road is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore. The present road is full of potholes, and residents of Tadasinkoppa face an uphill journey to the Navalur Bridge.

Hubballi: The cement road connecting Tadasinkoppa to Navalur Bridge is expected to be completed soon. The road, the estimated cost of construction of which is Rs 2.5 crore, was in poor condition, full of potholes, much to the dismay of the residents of Tadasinkoppa, who faced a harrowing journey to the Navalur bridge. In fact, the residents of Tadasinkoppa had been demanding the construction of a cement concrete road for the last 20 years. Given that the section is surrounded by brick kilns, there is a lot of heavy vehicular movement on the road, further emphasizing the need for a firmer surface below.
An old village situated between Hubli and Dharwad, Tadasinkoppa is about 15 km to the east. Home to 3,500 people, this old village is famous for the more than 100 brick kilns that dot its landscape. Tadasinkoppa was previously surrounded by mud roads, which disappointed both the residents and owners of the brick kilns, given that the heavy rains turned them into mud, making the movement of heavy vehicles impossible. However, after a long delay, the amount has been approved for the construction of cement concrete road from the MLA fund. The Public Works Department was entrusted with the work of road construction and the work which started last month is set to be completed soon.
Tadasinkoppa ward corporator Lakshmi Hindsageri told TOI that the work on the road is likely to be completed by October. “The residents have been demanding a cement concrete road connecting Tadasinkop with Navalur Bridge for a long time,” he said.
Tadasinkoppa resident and truck owner Shashi Kiran said that once the concrete road is built, the movement of heavy vehicles will be smooth. He hoped to open the road for traffic soon.
