These rare fruits are auctioned every year and like any auction, the highest bidder gets their product. The cost of these watermelons ranges from thousands to lakhs of rupees per unit. Their price is Rs. 4.5 lakh in the year 2019, however, the price has come down significantly during the pandemic in the last two years. Despite this, watermelon is still considered the most precious of its kind.
Its outer appearance is black, while the inside is not like others of its kind. They are sweeter than other types of watermelon and contain fewer seeds which make them tastier and easier to eat.
The cheapest of its kind in India will also get very expensive. It is difficult to catch such a rare fruit, but one can say that it is worth it.
