Theft in court, evidence documents missing, TDP accuses Jagan’s minister of conspiracy

Public Accounts Committee chairman Payyavula Keshav on Friday urged the Nellore court to take suo motu cognizance of an incident of theft of documentary evidence against newly appointed minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

Keshav said that Minister Reddy was the main accused in the case in which the forgery charges against him were proved.

The TDP leader said one can guess who would benefit from the theft of documents shown as evidence in the chargesheet filed against Kakani. “The judiciary should take this evasion from the 4th Additional Judicial Magistrate Court at Nellore very seriously,” he said.

Keshav insisted that this was the first time in the country that documents were shamelessly stolen from the court. “Thieves usually steal cash or gold jewellery, but in this case, they have looted only the documentary evidence filed against the minister. If the culprits of this theft are not punished, it will set a wrong example for the criminals and criminals all over the country.

The PAC president expressed regret that attacking the courts and judiciary has become a habit since the Jagan Mohan Reddy government came to power. “The Nellore court theft was like Colombian mafia don Pablo Escobar, attacking the Supreme Court of that country with his personal army,” he said.

“Escobar targeted the court only when the criminal and mafia cases against him came to a logical conclusion, threatening his existence. The Nellore court theft also took place on similar lines. It was done by former minister S. Chandramohan Reddy in December, 2017. was related to the defamation case filed in the U.S.,” Keshav said.

The TDP leader said that as part of a well-planned conspiracy, Govardhan Reddy leveled corruption allegations against the then minister Chandramohan Reddy. Govardhan Reddy released certain property documents to substantiate his allegations that Chandramohan Reddy acquired illegal assets worth thousands of crores in foreign countries. Those documents eventually proved to be forged.
