The government on Monday told the Rajya Sabha that there have been a total of 5,601 incidents of ceasefire violations (CFVs) by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir in the last two years.

Responding to a question, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt also said that the troops deployed at forward posts have complete “freedom of action” in responding to Pakistan’s ceasefire violations.

“From November 30, 2019 to November 29, 2021, a total of 5,601 cases of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control were reported in Jammu and Kashmir under the operational control of the Indian Army,” he said. Pakistani posts and jawans during retaliatory action by Indian Army.”

Replying to a separate question, Bhatt said a total of 194 industrial licenses have been issued to private companies for manufacturing of items like ammunition, artillery guns, howitzers, air defense guns, destroyers, frigates, night vision devices, ballistic protection items and radars. have been done. last five years.

“Licenses for the manufacture of defense equipment are granted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Home Affairs under the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act and the Arms Act, respectively, by the Licensing Authorities in consultation with the Ministry of Defence,” They said.
