These are the 10 most educated countries of the world

When it comes to the scales of measuring the development of a country, education is a major indicator. A list of the top ten most educated countries in the world is shown in recent statistical data shared by World of Statistics on Twitter.

Canada tops the list of most educated countries, followed by Russia, Japan, Luxembourg, South Korea, Israel, the United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Australia. Despite the focus on education and rising expenditure on the education system, India is struggling to make it to the list.

Canada is the top ranked country in terms of education. According to the OECD, more than 60% of adults in the Great White North have completed secondary education.

According to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the education of Canadians is the country’s most valuable resource, he said at the 2016 World Economic Forum in Davos.

He said that education is essential to help people learn, think and adapt. “Our natural resources are important and always will be. However, Canadians know that it is not just what is needed beneath our feet to thrive and prosper.

Canada is followed by countries like Russia, Japan, Luxembourg and South Korea. The giant United States seems to have slipped down a rank as it was ranked number six according to the same list released in previous years.

Notably, India spent around 3.1% of its GDP on education in 2019-20, according to the Economic Survey. Increase in expenditure and an enhanced education policy at the national level will certainly help in improving the quality of education provided to India.

In his latest tweet, the business tycoon shared the list of top ten educated countries in the world and called upon Indians to try to make a place for India in the list. In his tweet, he said that India should not be left out of the list. He also expressed that it is not only the job of the government to ensure good quality education in the country. He encouraged the people to make their contribution towards achieving this objective. “We all have to do our bit. Every one teaches is an old saying. And the more of us who are supporting education, the better.” Anand Mahindra said in his tweet.

Anand Mahindra is known to express his views on myriad issues ranging from education to sports on the micro-blogging site. Earlier in the day, he tweeted to praise the Sri Lanka team for their stellar performance in the Asia Cup cricket tournament. He lauded them for their team spirit and high morale even after they lost against Afghanistan in the earlier matches.
