Thinkkle Menstrual Hygiene Initiative launched

For the first time, the state government, in collaboration with HLL Lifecare Limited, is all set to distribute menstrual cups to 10,000 women across four municipal wards as part of a social initiative targeted at safe and healthy periods.

‘Thinkle’ is a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the Educational and Social Development Wing of HLL called HLL Management Academy (HMA).

In the first phase of the program, Thinkkle menstrual cups will be distributed among 10,000 women in the coastal wards of Valiyathura and Shanghmugham and the urban wards of Perurkkada and Kaudiyar under the city corporation.

The project has been implemented in Alappuzha and Kochi earlier, but is being implemented on such a scale for the first time. “This is a pioneering initiative,” said Anita Thampi, Chief Executive Officer, HMA.

Creating awareness with the support of medical professionals is also part of Thinkkle so that women understand what menstrual cups are, how they are used and their benefits.

He handed over Thinkkle M-cups to 10 women representing the four wards where the project is being implemented. “If 10,000 women use these cups for five years in a row, this would reduce the sanitary napkin waste by about 200 tonnes,” said Ms. George.

Transport Minister Antony Raju, who released an M-Cup awareness booklet by handing over copies to the councilors of the four wards, said that Thinkal was a new initiative of HLL aimed at protecting women’s health and environment and it was taken up with the heart by women. will be accepted. State.
