The third-generation Apple AirPods have been launched with spatial audio, courtesy Dolby Atmos, and a major design overhaul to both the earbuds and the case. The TWS earbuds now also feature adaptive EQ for better sound fidelity. The latest upgrade to Apple’s most popular audio device was unveiled exposed event on Monday
Apple AirPods now also boast of better battery life. The earbuds automatically deliver 6 hours of listening time and 4 hours of talk time, along with an additional 30 hours of music playback and 20 hours of talk time with the case. Apple claims that keeping the earbuds in for five minutes can give them enough juice for an hour of playback or talk time.

The biggest change though is spatial audio with active head tracking for a three-dimensional audio experience. The feature has been enabled with the help of Dolby Atmos.
The adaptive EQ function allows the earbuds to automatically tune music to the listener in real time as well as according to the wearer’s ears for perfect audio based on the listener’s content.
The stem on the earbuds has been shortened design-wise, adding a pinch-perfect control feature. Apple has also added MagSafe charging to the new Apple AirPods case.
Internally, the new AirPods get the same H1 headphone chip as the previous generation. Sensors on the TWS earbuds include dual beamforming microphones, inward-facing microphones, skin-detect sensors, motion-detecting accelerometers, speech-detecting accelerometers, and force sensors. The earphones use Bluetooth 5.0 to quickly connect to devices.
The new Apple AirPods can be ordered starting today, and will be available for purchase starting October 26. TWS earbuds cost ₹18,500 in India.
