Uttarakhand: Mana village of Uttarakhand will now be recognized as ‘India’s first village’ as the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has recently put up a signboard at the entrance of this village on the India-China border. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced by tweeting that Mana will not be called the last but the first village of the country.

Mana became the first village of India

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in a tweet, “Now Mana will not be known as the last but the first village of the country.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Chamoli village in October last year, had said that the country’s border villages are its villages and not the last. Highlighting Modi’s remarks on border villages, Dhami tweeted in Hindi, “Our government is always dedicated to the all-round development of border areas.”

Mana is located near Badrinath and devotees visiting the Himalayan shrine walk up to the village for darshan.
