This Starkid Delivered 38 Flops In His Bollywood Career; Take A Guess – News18

His recent films were Dasvi and Ludo.

He had to carry forward a massive legacy that his father had woven over decades.

The debate surrounding nepotism in Bollywood has escalated further with the launch of a bunch of starkids in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. It is noteworthy that a big majority of the young bunch of actors we have today are starkids. Not all of them have achieved the level of success that their celebrity parents have. When Abhisekh Bachchan made his debut in the film industry, more than two decades ago, he bore a huge responsibility on his shoulders. He had to carry forward a massive legacy that his father Amitabh Bachchan had woven over decades. Unfortunately, his first film Refugee bombed at the box office. The movie, released in 2000, was also severely overshadowed by the massive phenomenon known as Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, which was a debut vehicle for yet another starkid, Hrithik Roshan.

Hrithik stole all the limelight but fortunately, Abhisekh was not completely written off. He kept receiving offers in movies like Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya and Dhai Akshar Prem Ke; but most of these films flopped, until Mani Ratnam’s Yuva happened and his performance received critical acclaim.

Abhisekh Bachchan then gave a few hits in the form of Dhoom, Bunty aur Babli, Guru and Paa. He has worked in 60 movies so far, out of which 38 are flops. His career trajectory surely cannot be compared with his legendary father. Despite the flop record, Abhishekh never stopped receiving offers, simply because filmmakers recognised the talent in him. Today, Abhisekh Bachchan charges Rs 10-12 crore per film. According to reports, his total property is around Rs 280 crore.

Abhisekh’s recent films, Dasvi and Ludo, which were released on Netflix, have earned him a lot of critical acclaim. His most recent theatrical release was Ghoomar, which was also a critical success but could not sustain at the box office. He also played a negative cameo role in Ajay Devgn’s Bhola, which was a remake of the Tamil film Kaithi.
