Guwahati, 30 September | Assam Police has recovered thousands of forged documents and fake seals in Nagaon district and arrested one person. A top official gave this information on Thursday. Director General of Police Bhaskarjyoti Mahant said that a gang was involved in making fake marksheets, certificates, land documents, permits etc. Mahant tweeted, “So far we have recovered more than 12 thousand fake documents, thousands of seals etc. from the gang.”
He said that a team of Nagaon police uncovered the racket during the investigation of a theft case. One person has been taken into custody in this regard so far, while the main accused is absconding, the DGP said, adding that efforts are on to trace him.
