Three killed in Israeli attacks on Syria airport – Times of India

Beirut: At least three people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike and the Aleppo airport in northern Syria has been damaged for the second time in a week.
Attacks on Tuesday evening damaged the main runway of Syria’s second largest airport, forcing it out of service. state news agency Sana informed.
Syrian Observatory for Human RightsA British group monitoring the conflict said the targets of the attacks were a warehouse in the airport compound used by militias affiliated with Iran.
“Three people were killed and five were injured,” the group said, adding that a total of six missiles were fired.
The identities and nationalities of those killed could not be immediately confirmed.
Israel rarely comments on attacks carried out against Iranian and Allied targets in Syria.
The Iranian military and the Shia militia groups that control it have a significant military presence throughout Syria and have been a vital support for President Bashar al-Assad’s forces.
Israeli attacks had already caused some damage to the Aleppo airport on 31 August.
Syrian private Cham Wings The airline announced shortly after Tuesday’s strike that its flights to and from Aleppo would be rerouted to the capital Damascus, about 300 kilometers (180 mi) to the south.
