“Ticket work please”: Japanese ambassador’s request to Vada Pav vendors in Pune

The video of Mr Suzuki trying street food has gone viral on social media.

Vada Pav is one of the most popular street food in Mumbai. Crispy potato bonda baked with spicy and savory chutney and buttery soft pav buns make a delicious street-style snack. Recently, Japanese Ambassador to India Hiroshi Suzuki shared a video of himself eating Vada Pav in Pune.

His video trying street food has gone viral on social media. Mr. Suzuki was in Pune to attend an event and decided to try the street food at the famous Garden Vada Pav Centre. In the video, he can be seen relishing the vada pav, which was apparently too hot for his taste buds.

He wrote, “I love the street food of India…but a little tikka less please!” (slightly less spicy, please)

Since being shared, the video has garnered over 3 lakh views on Twitter and several comments.

Earlier, Mr. Suzuki had tried Gol Gappa, Banarasi Thali in Varanasi. He said that he wanted to try this dish ever since he saw the leaders of both countries eating it in Delhi.

He wrote in the caption, “I really wanted to eat golgappas because I saw PM Modi @narendramodi and PM Kishida @kishida230 eating together!”

the ambassador said in another tweet. “After watching the mystical night aarti, I also enjoyed pure Banarasi thali. I thank you all for such warm hospitality.”
