In one such update, the app is reportedly planning to bring the ability to transcribe voice notes in the future.

According to a report by WaBetaInfo, this feature was detected in the latest beta of WhatsApp for iOS 23.3.0.73 update. Sharing the screenshot of the upcoming feature, the report said WhatsApp Will add an introduction screen to explain if transcription is not available. According to the shared image, when a word is not recognized in the voice note or is set to a different language, the transcript will not be available.

The report states that voice note transcription on WhatsApp will always be done locally on the device. Users may be asked to download the relevant language pack which will never be shared with WhatsApp or Apple. This means that the content of the message will be unique only to you. However, the feature may only work on recent versions of iOS.

Currently, images shared by WhatsApp are compressed by default, affecting their quality. The new feature will allow users to send images in their original quality, while preserving their resolution and clarity.

WaBetaInfo reports that when this feature is rolled out for beta testers, users will still be able to share photos using the standard compression method. This will be helpful for those who want to save storage space. This will always be the default option, says the report. Readers should note that the ability to send photos through WhatsApp in their original quality is under development and will be released in a future update of the app.
