The Gujarat government has prematurely released 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano gang rape case. After completing 14 years of life imprisonment, the convicts were released under the old policy of the government. During the 2002 Gujarat riots, 11 convicts were involved in the gang-rape of Bilkis Bano and the murder of his family members. Bilkis Bano herself has questioned the release of the convicts, saying that she is feeling insecure after coming out of jail.
