TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee to visit Goa on December 13

This will be Banerjee’s second visit to Goa in less than two months. This time he will be accompanied by nephew and party MP Abhishek Banerjee.

According to a party official, details about Banerjee’s visit and her schedule will come out later.

The West Bengal chief minister had last visited the state last week in October. During her three-day visit, Banerjee had participated in many programs.

He interacted with the fishing community at Malim Jetty in Betin and announced welfare measures. “Goa TMC will protect the life and livelihood of the fishing community,” she had said.

Banerjee had also promised that Goa would increase the TMC subsidy by 2.5 times. 30,000 to 75,000 if it were elected to power. In addition, she said that an allowance 4,000 per month will be given to all men and women engaged in fishing activities.

He had said that a subsidy would also be introduced for the purchase and repair of fishing nets and accessories.

He said the TMC did not intend to split votes in the coastal state, and if it comes to power, Goa will not be run from Delhi. “If TMC comes to power in Goa, it will work for the state and not on the agenda of revenge,” he said.

The party chief had also hit out at the Congress, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi would become more powerful as the old party was not serious about politics, and alleged that the country is suffering because that party does not take decisions.

TMC has decided to contest all the 40 assembly seats in Goa, which is currently ruled by the BJP.
