1. A day after the BJP released the first list of 189 candidates for the Karnataka Assembly polls, former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi today announced in Belagavi that he has decided to quit the BJP after being denied a ticket. He gives importance to the decision of the people of Athani constituency rather than ‘any party high command’.
2. Opposition from some other leaders Those who have been denied tickets in the first list of BJP, and their supporters. Former chief minister Jagadish Shettar, who has been asked by the high command to retire from electoral politics, is on his way to New Delhi to hold talks, insisting that he be given a ticket for another term.
