Produced and directed by Pratim Dasgupta, it is a vampire fantasy thriller series set in Kolkata. Shantanu Maheshwari plays the role of a dentist who falls in love with one of his patients. However, the girl – played by Tanya Maniktala – turns out to be a vampire who broke one of her fangs and needed immediate dental care. He is hunted by the ‘Katmundus’, an underground coven of vampire slayers led by a modern Wicca named Luna Luca (Revati).
The trailer also introduces us to Sub Inspector Karthik (Sikander Kher), who is investigating a missing Fang, and two other vampires played by Tilottama Shome and Shashwat Chatterjee.
The show has an apocalyptic edge as the worlds of vampires and humans dangerously collide.
Talking about the series, Pratim Dasgupta said in a statement, “Magical, thrilling and unapologetically romantic, Tooth Fairy is a fantasy fairy-tale set in present-day Kolkata. While at its core, this is a classic love story between a vampire and a human, it is also a life-affirming tale filled with humanity.
