The 2021 India Bike Week Special Edition concluded this weekend in Lonavala, Maharashtra, not far from Vagator, Goa, which had been its usual host for years. After 2020 was abandoned due to the pandemic, the two-day annual motorcycle festival was back and concluded, though people entering the venue were required to maintain face masks, sanitisers in check and social distancing protocols. The number was small. And yet, riders were back all over the country to celebrate brotherhood, good music and motorcycles. As we look back on the fun-filled weekend, here are the top moments from the IBW 2021 special edition that stayed with us.

1. Motorcycle Launch
What is IBW if not for motorcycles and there were plenty in attendance. Kawasaki, Honda and Harley-Davidson took the lead by introducing all-new offerings. Kawasaki showcases the new Z650RS to the public for the first time while Honda launches it Haynes CB350 First anniversary edition on the main stage. The manufacturer also unveiled CB300R BS6 variant, also announcing that the model will be manufactured locally. IBW’s long-standing partner, Harley-Davidson brings new sportster sleep In the motorcycle circle, its second big launch this year.

2. Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 – 18603 FT Film
IBW is also a great venue to screen some impressive motorcycling documentaries and films, and this year’s topic of discussion was the Harley-Davidson-produced short film – 18,603 FT. It was about five motorcyclists who were carrying it Pan America 1250 From Ladakh to 18,603 ft. Hence, the name. This is the highest ever height of any Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and it is a fitting tribute to the brand’s first adventure touring motorcycle, the Pan America 1250, taking to the roof of the world as the high mountain passes of Ladakh. is also popular.
The 12-minute film traces the journey of five riders to Manali, Jispa, Pang and Leh. Motorcyclists take in the beautiful landscape as they make their way to the Key La Pass, dealing with rough terrain, cliffs, broken roads and lots of face faces. Ashish Raverane was honored by IBW for his incredible performance in Dakar this year, while CS Santosh took the stage to introduce the new Hero XPulse 4V.
3. Congratulations to Ashish Rourane and CS Santosh back in action
Glad to see the presence of top boys of Indian Motorcycle Rally at IBW 2021. Organizers honored private Ashish Raverane for his performance in the unaided Male Moto category in Dakar this year. Meanwhile, Hero MotoSports Team Rally rider CS Santosh was here to showcase the new XPulse 200 4Valve. Hero also had an experiential track for attendees to experience the new XPulse on the off-road trail.
4. Wandering in the Big Trip Tent
If you’re a fan of hearing travel stories, the Big Trip Tent was the place to be at IBW 2021. Aditya Kumar shared his story from his trip to South America, while Debashish, Dinesh Rohra, Dharmendra Jain, Yohan Mubarak and Rahul shared their story. Deshmukh talks about his Hoi ASEAN Corridor ride since 2015.

5. Vintage Motorcycles
The vintage motorcycles on display at IBW 2021 were grabbing attention. From BMWs, Nortons to Triumphs, the impeccably maintained machines looked beautiful in the winter sun. The BSA Gold Star however was attracting special attention as people compared the original to the revived model which made its UK debut in the same weekend. We also love the Yamaha RD350 and Yamaha RX-100 on display, which are relatively modern-day classics from the motorcycle world.
From Harley to Honda, there were manufacturer clubs and superbike clubs from across the country.
6. Motorcycle Club
While the IBW 2021 Special Edition had limited entries this year due to the COVID-19 related protocols, clubs made it through from across the country. The club parades were especially fun to watch as Harley and Honda riders flocked and even independent clubs made their presence felt. With Honda selling over 35,000 units of the CB350 range in the last one year, we saw a lot in attendance at IBW. Having said that, whenever someone decides to cut their bike for no reason, we can’t help it.
Royal Enfields were a common choice for modifiers to showcase their prowess as the Classic 350 and Interceptor 650 were transformed into works of art.
7. Modern Machines
Another tentacle that had us smiling like five-year-olds was the revamped section. Custom motorcycle makers from across the country arrived to showcase some wonderfully crafted machines. unexpectedly, Royal Enfield 350 The platform was the preferred platform for most modifiers to base their creations on, while the Interceptor 650 was the next favorite with several creations appearing this year. There were exceptions like the Mahindra Mojo which looked like it was on Varese’s journey for style ideas.

8. Maggi and Chai
IBW 2021 Would we have wanted to ride the mountains or at least it had a great view of the Throttle Shrottle Cafe at the site which was all decked out with prayer flags and serving instant noodles and beverages. If you’ve ever wanted to imagine what Ladakh would be like with more favorable weather, we got a little taste of it.
IBW’s market is always a great place to check out new riding and motorcycling apparel. You can get some at good prices too
9. IBW Flea Market and Great Offers
With tons of riding gear, motorcycle accessories and even performance parts, IBW had a lot to choose from. You can find retailers for everything from household brands to premium-riding gear. There were quite a few options to choose from and you could even get a good deal depending on your bargaining skills. It was also a great place to see fun motorcycling apparel and other merchandise at some really good prices.

10. Good Music on the Main Stage
IBW 2021 is as much a music festival as it is a motorcycle festival. The top of the mountain in Aamby Valley was filled with some fun beats as DJs Midival Panditz, Ishani, Gurbux and Sam handled the console over the span of two days. A great way to unwind after a long day.
