Up front, it gets a new celestial pattern grille, full LED projector headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and a new bumper. In profile, it sits on new 17-inch alloy wheels while the rest remains the same as its electric sibling. At the rear, you get new LED taillamps and a new rear bumper with chrome accented dual exhaust design.

On the inside, the Astor’s cabin looks similar to its electric counterpart, the ZS EV, and gets three interior theme options. It comes equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7-inch instrument cluster, a multi-functional steering wheel with chrome inserts, power-adjustable front seats, auto climate control, 360-degree camera view. , air purifier, electric parking brake and panoramic sunroof.

The MG Astor comes with a customized AI assistant that understands natural languages and supports 35 Hinglish voice commands. The new system provides more than 80 Internet features including Wikipedia, jokes, news, festival GIFS, navigation, online music streaming, in-car controls and important in-car warnings. For safety, the SUV comes with 6 airbags, ISOFIX mount, TPMS, ESP, traction control, hill descent control and all four-disc brakes.

The MG Astor SUV will be offered in two engine options – a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that belts out 138 bhp @ 5,600 rpm and 220 Nm @ 3,600 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Then there’s the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit that comes mated to either a manual gearbox or an 8-step CVT gearbox. This motor is tuned to churn out 108 bhp @ 6,000 rpm and 144 Nm @ 4,400 rpm of peak torque.
