Top 5 Fresh Off the Runway Hair and Makeup Looks to Try This Festive Season

Just like fashion weeks are incomplete without designers and clothes, a look is incomplete without hair and makeup. The FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week featured a variety of looks, which were carefully crafted by Lakme Backstage Heroes of Lakme Salon & Academy. Going off the runway, here’s how women can flaunt these looks, be it a special occasion or on a daily basis.

Accessories with a bandana can elevate any outfit this season.

At veteran designer Anand Kabra’s show, the makeup created included sensuous, bronzed skin, straight winged liner stretching across the inner and outer corners of the eyes, and brown lips with a touch of gold in the center. This look is perfect for festive season and contemporary brides.

The hair for the show was wrapped in a cloth bandana and kept in a messy, angular structure, with an artfully designed flyaway across the forehead to complete the look. Pooja Singh, National Creative Director, Hair, Lakme Salon says, “Not only is this look easy to recreate, but accessories with a bandana can also elevate one’s basic outfit.”

For those who want to keep it classy this festive season, the makeup of designer Gauri and Nainika’s show is the perfect match. Makeup at the show consisted of dark, dark smokey eyes with black and brown eyeshadow at the waterline. Thick, long lashes completed the eyes. The cheekbones were contoured and highlighted while the lips were kept stunning, bright red. Hair was side-swept and secured with pins, but light movements were allowed in the hair with soft waves to match the floral theme of the collection.

Try glass glow skin with nude and glossy lips this festive season.

Nachiket Barve’s look is perfect for those who want to keep it clean and chic. The makeup consisted of glassy glowing skin with a clean base. The cheekbones were contoured and highlighted while the lips were kept nude and super glossy.

Sajna Sanghi was looking gorgeous in Swapnil Earthy Look makeup for the Fashion Designer Anju Modi Show.

According to Anupama Katyal, National Creative Director, Makeup & Nails, Lakme Salon, one must focus on the eyes with soft glowing skin and nude brown lips to achieve the dreamy expressive look from designer Anju Modi’s show. A lovely mix of brown and black eyeshadow with smudged mascara and heavy mascara on the lower waterline, a touch of highlighter along with tons of blush will help complete the look. Along with makeup, the hair can be given gorgeous waves and then twisted into a classic chignon embellished with gold and stone jewelry to create an extravagant look.

feathery eyebrows
Feathered brows and dewy skin is perfect for modern Indian brides.

The golden diva look from Samant Chauhan’s show, a golden glow with green and blue jewelry on the eyes, fluffy, feathery brows, and fair skin with a dazzling glow, is perfect for the modern Indian bride. Whereas the dreamy look of Moti Devi can easily be complemented by pinkish eyes and pearl glass glowing skin on the forehead. A tributary look can be easily achieved with smoky eyes to create depth with dark mascara, bronzed skin, and matte lips.
