1. Last Legislature Session of Karnataka Government finished yesterday And the state is now officially in campaign mode for the April-May elections. All the parties are doing their respective “yatras” in different parts of Karnataka. Congress is on Praja Dhvani Yatra, BJP has launched four different Yatras while JD(S) is on Panch Ratna Yatra.

2. The Kannada and Culture and Public Works departments unveiled a bronze bust of KC Reddy, the first Chief Minister of Karnataka. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Speaker of the Legislative Council Basavaraj J Horatti and Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri participated in the ceremony held at the Vidhana Soudha complex from 9.30 am.

3. Indian Institute of Astrophysics will celebrate National Science Day by organizing an open day today. There will be free entry to its premises for the visitors. There will be posters on astronomy, science experiments and demonstrations, telescope models, sunspot observations, stalls for merchandise by amateur astronomy groups. The open IIA campus is at II Block, Koramangala. Between 10 am to 8.30 am

4. All India Bank Retirees Federation is organizing its 6th Triennial National Convention today. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will inaugurate the convention at the Palace Sheesh Mahal located on the Palace grounds. Gate No. 7, Ballari Road, 4 PM

5. Karnataka State Bus Owners Association is organizing Southern Zone Bus Owners Meet today. Transport and Social Welfare Minister B.K. Sriramulu will attend. It will be held at Hotel Chancery Pavilion, Richmond Circle between 10 am to 4 pm

6. ‘Rising Beyond the Ceiling-Karnataka’, a book that recognizes and features a hundred contemporary Muslim women who have made significant progress in various fields, will be launched today. Former Governor and former Union Minister Margaret Alva will attend as the chief guest. The event will be held at Falcons Den, Prestige Falcon Tower, No. 19, Brunton Road between 5 pm to 7 pm.

7. Madhuri Kaushik and the party will be held at 5 pm today at the 14th Indian Classical Music Festival of Bharatiya Samaj Sabha; Sriranjani Santhanagopalan & Party, 6.15 pm; Rajesh Vaidya and party at Chowdia Memorial Hall, Vyalikwal, 7.30 pm
