1. Republic Day celebrations are being organized at various places. In the main event at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground on MG Road, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot unfurled the national flag and attended the event as the chief guest. The ministers hoist the flag.

2. The Principal Bench of the Karnataka High Court at 9.30 a.m. Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Justice Prasanna B. Hoisted the flag at the Central Portico of the High Court with Varale.

3. The Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, is organizing folk art exhibitions and cultural programs at Rabindra Kalakshetra, JC Road from 5 pm onwards as part of the Republic Day celebrations.

4. Many Karnataka organized public reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India at various public places including bus stations, metro stations and Church Street on Thursday on the occasion of Republic Day. The organization, along with other like-minded organizations, has been organizing programs against communalism for the past two years.

5. Souhard Bharat, an NGO, is organizing a joint Sambram program at Chitrakala Parishad premises. Former Supreme Court Justice Gopal Gowda will inaugurate the program at 10.30 am

6. Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Corporation is organizing Khadi Utsav and exhibition and sale of Khadi products. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the exhibition at Tripuravasini, Palace Ground, Mekhri Circle at 4 pm

7. Handing over ceremony of Visible Emission Line Solar Coronagraph (VELC) Aditya-L1 Space Solar Mission. S Somnath, Chairman, ISRO is participating as the Chief Guest. The event is at the Center for Research and Education in Science and Technology (CREST), Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Sidlaghatta Road, Hoskote from 2 pm onwards.

1. Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada V. Sunil Kumar will inaugurate a material recovery facility at Tenka Mijar village near Mangaluru. The dry waste collected from 51 gram panchayats in Bantwal, Mangaluru, Moodabidri and Mulki taluks will be segregated at a facility built under the Swachh Bharat Mission. It has the capacity to process 10 tonnes of waste.

2. A four-day horticulture and floriculture show will begin at Kadri Park in Mangaluru. It will be inaugurated by Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada V. Sunil Kumar.

3. Activist and retired IAS officer Harsh Mander to release book kutluru story Written by Journalist Naveen Surinje, in Mangaluru at 11 am today.
