Topping Merit List Was a Surprise: Know Everything About UPSC Topper Shruti Sharma

New Delhi Three women have achieved a historic achievement in the Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services Examination 2021.

The results were declared on Monday, with Delhi’s Shruti Sharma emerging as the topper securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 1. Along with her, 684 others have qualified for IAS, IFS, IPS and other services.

Chandigarh’s Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla secured the second and third positions respectively.

The final result of UPSC CSE is published by combining the marks of main interview and personality test rounds.

The main exam result was declared on 17th March and those who passed it were called for interview round (personality test) from 5th April to 26th May 2022.

Who is Shruti Sharma?

The 26-year-old UPSC CSE 2021 topper was confident of cracking the exams, however, securing the top rank was a surprise.

“I was sure that I would pass the exam, but had no idea to rank so high.” he said.

Sharma is an alumnus of St Stephen’s College, Delhi University. After this he took admission in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for post graduation.

He then left JNU to enroll in the Delhi School of Economics (DSE) to pursue a post-graduate degree.

The UPSC CSE 2021 topper credits her success to Jamia Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy (RCA). Apart from Sharma, 23 other students have also cleared the civil services exam from Jamia RCA.

Congratulating the toppers, PM Modi wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations to all those who have cleared the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2021. My best wishes to these youths who are at a crucial time in India’s growth journey in their administrative careers.” When we are celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also put out a message on Twitter, congratulating the candidates who cleared the UPSC CSE 2021 exam. The Congress leader emphasized in his tweet that “now there is a huge responsibility on all of you to serve India with utmost integrity and commitment”.
