Tork Motors to increase prices of Kratos, Kratos R electric bikes

Less than a year after its launch, Torque Motors has announced that it will be hiking the prices of its Kratos electric bike by ₹10,000, and this is for both the standard variant as well as the more high-performance R variant. will apply. As a result, both will be priced at Rs 1,32,499 and Rs 1,47,499 respectively (ex-showroom Maharashtra after the Fame-II and state subsidy).

The price hike will be effective from January 1, 2023.

While this particular hike is of ₹10,000, the overall increase in the price of the Kratos since its launch has been really huge. At the time of its launch, the Kratos was priced at ₹1.08 lakh for the standard variant and ₹1.23 lakh for the R variant (ex-showroom Maharashtra after FAME-2 and state subsidy). This means that in less than a year after the January hike, the Kratos will become almost ₹25,000 more expensive than its launch price.

What the Kratos has going for it is the fact that it has no direct competition at this price point in the electric motorcycle space. At the lower end, there’s the Revolt RV400, priced at ₹1.23 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra, Fame II and after state subsidies) and at the higher end, there’s the more expensive Ultraviolette F77, which was launched recently at ₹3.80 Is. lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

As for the reason for the Kratos’ price increase, Tork says it has “absorbed a significant portion” of the increase in input costs so far, but the sharp increase “has forced this minimal price increase.” The company also says that it will offer price protection to all motorcycles delivered till December 31, 2022.
