Toyota bZ3 electric saloon to rival Tesla Model 3 – Times of India

Toyota is working to launch its bZ3 electric saloon in the international market which will rival the likes of Tesla Model 3. The company will primarily launch the bZ3 in China and later in the Asian and European markets.
Known primarily as the bZ as a concept, Toyota will launch the production model under the name bZ3. Based on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, the electric sedan will use Chinese firm BYD’s Blade lithium-iron-phosphate battery technology, which is claimed to be a safer and energy-intensive alternative to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
Dimensionally, it will be 4,725mm in length, 1,835mm in width and 1,475mm in height. In the European and Asian markets, the bZ3 will replace the electric sedan Toyota Corolla,

With a curb weight of 1,710-18,40kg, the bZ3 will likely deliver a top speed of 160kmph and power of 176hp/235hp. Toyota is yet to reveal the range and mileage figures, though the upcoming BYD Atto 3 SUV in India will offer a range of 420 km with 64.5 kWh Blade battery.
The Toyota bZ3 electric saloon is expected to be launched in the international markets in 2024. It may not launch in the Indian market though Toyota and suzuki According to various media reports, there are plans to launch some made-in-India electric SUVs as well as MPVs based on the 27PL platform.
Further, reports suggest that the first launch under the Toyota-Suzuki partnership will be an electric SUV (Creta-size) which will be unveiled in the year 2025.
