Toyota Kirloskar will discontinue the Yaris in India

For now, the carmaker has assured the existing customers of service and spares.

Toyota Kirloskar has announced that it has discontinued the Yaris in India from today as part of its strategy to meet the “continuously evolving needs of the customers” through advanced technologies and product offerings. “Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the discontinuation of Yaris in India with effect from September 27, 2021,” Toyota Kirloskar said in a statement on Monday.

Toyota Kirloskar has assured that the services and parts will be made available to the existing customers for now. “Toyota will continue to meet the needs of all Yaris customers through our dealer service outlets across the country, with the promise of availability of genuine Toyota spare parts for at least the next 10 years on this discontinued model.”

Apart from this, Toyota Kirloskar has emphasized that customers will continue to enjoy the company’s other products. “We wish to continue to serve such customers with other existing offerings and are looking forward to launch new Toyota models in the coming new year 2022.” Toyota Kirloskar said.

A rebadged version of the Ciaz is expected to join Toyota’s line-up in India soon. Like the Baleno and Vitara Brezza, the Ciaz will be sold with the Toyota badge and will likely be named Belta.

Launched in 2018 at a price of Rs 9-14 lakh, the Toyota Yaris was seen as a rival to the Honda City.
