According to a PTI report quoting Khowai SP Kiran Kumar, Section 144 was imposed in Teliyamura after 12 people, including three policemen, were injured in an attack on a bus carrying TMC supporters.
CM Biplab Kumar Deb, without naming the TMC, told the media that voters in Tripura “have given a befitting reply to the defamation of a party that has no base”. He alleged that the TMC was not allowed to file nominations in 90% of the municipal bodies at the behest of the BJP.
CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Choudhary said, “If the elections were free, fair and peaceful, the BJP would not have got a single seat in the civic polls. They actually looted votes by disrespecting the mandate of the people. Voters will give him a proper answer in the next assembly election.
