Triumph Motorcycles has introduced the 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR which will go on sale in Europe in early 2022. The Speed Triple 1200 RR is a retro-styled racer, described as a modern cafe racer, much more track-focused than the naked. Speed Triple Rs 1200. It shares the same 1160 cc triple engine but sportier ergonomics, comes with higher-spec suspension, which provides sportier performance ideal for track riding. The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR sports a semi-fair like a modern cafe racer with a round headlight with distinctive LED DRLs. The clip-ons are under Rs 1200, and the footpegs have been moved back and up, providing a more committed and sporty riding position.
Design and ergonomics
The Speed Triple 1200 RR shares the same frame, subframe, engine and fuel tank as the Rs 1200. But there are other ergonomic changes. The clip-on handlebars are lower, and the footpegs have been moved to the rear, providing a more aggressive, track-focused riding position. The RR gets carbon fiber infill panels and details of the tank, fairing and cockpit. Additionally, there are new carbon fiber side panels as well as carbon fiber front mudguards.

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR shares the same 1,160 inline three-cylinder engine with the RS, making 178 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm of peak torque at 9,250 rpm.

Built around the latest generation Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS, the Speed Triple 1200 RR’s engine has been left unchanged. So, it makes the same 178 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm of peak torque at 9,250 rpm. The engine is mated to a stacked six-speed transmission and a slip-and-assist clutch. A quick shift derived from Triumph’s participation in the Moto 2 Championship comes standard. On upshifts, Triumph Shift Assist adjusts the ignition, fuel and throttle angles to reduce pressure on the gears. For downshifts, the system controls throttle blips for smooth gear changes.
Full-colour TFT screen, five riding modes, illuminated switch cube, keyless ignition and semi-active suspension are standard on the Speed Triple 1200 RR.
Electronics and Features
The Speed Triple 1200 RR gets a TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, illuminated switch cube and keyless system. There are four riding modes to choose from, Rain, Road, Sport, Track and a user-configurable mode. Each has different throttle maps, ABS and traction control settings, and suspension maps.
The Speed Triple 1200 RR gets the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 electronically adjustable semi-active system. Both the front and rear suspension are fully adjustable.

On the RR, Triumph has also upgraded the suspension with the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 electronically-adjustable semi-active system. Front and rear suspension are both fully adjustable, and the semi-active system continuously adjusts compression and rebound damping to match riding style, speed and acceleration.
Half-fairing and round headlight differentiate the RR with lower clip-on handlebars, which offer a more track-focused riding position.
The 17-inch cast aluminum wheels are similar to the Speed Triple 1200 RR, but now come with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres. For even stronger performance, Triumph Track offers use-only Diablo Supercorsa SC2 V3 tyres. Braking duties are handled by Brembo Stilma monoblock calipers that hold 320 mm twin discs at the front wheel, while a Brembo twin-piston caliper grips 220 mm single discs at the rear wheel. The seat height is 830 mm while the curb weight is 199 kg.
Speed Triple 1200 RR is available in two color schemes, Red Hopper and Storm Grey, and Crystal Viole and Storm Grey.

The new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR is available in only two color schemes, Red Hopper and Storm Grey, and Crystal Viole and Storm Grey. The Speed Triple 1200 RR will be available for sale in the UK from January 2022 at a price of GBP 17,950. As of now, there is no clarity on whether the bike will be offered for sale in India or not. If it is launched, expect prices to be around ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom).
