Union Minister promises to ‘work’ on suggestion to set up IN-SPACe center in Hyderabad

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh said that the Center would like to use Hyderabad’s startup culture and infrastructure to enrich and promote the space technology sector of the country.

Mr Singh was speaking at the 24th National Conference on e-Governance on Friday, where he said the ‘unlocking’ of the country’s space sector has begun, and private entities are also being involved in the initiative.

“We are in the process of opening the center and other places, other places. Of course, Hyderabad will also be in the queue, waiting for that, because the kind of infrastructure they have, the kind of startup culture that already exists in Hyderabad, we want to use it to promote space technology. country,” Mr Singh said.

Referring to Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao’s suggestion to set up an Indian National Space Enhancement and Authorization Center in the state, Mr Singh said he would “withdraw the suggestion”, and act on it. India is making efforts to “match global standards”. , he shared his views on how Telangana can play an important role.

“And in a situation like this, Telangana will have to play a much bigger role. So, I just request the state government to stay with us. And we will stay connected with you, so that we can ultimately achieve the goal of global excellence. Speaking at the event, Shri Rama Rao described the state as ‘progressive’ and Hyderabad as an important hub for aerospace. He corroborated this by saying that more than 30% of the components of the Mars Orbiter Mission were built in Hyderabad.

Shri Rama Rao requested Shri Singh to issue approval for setting up a Center of Excellence for Space Research. “I urge you, sir, to provide an IN-SPACe center in Hyderabad, in the new era of illustrious startups like Skyroot and Dhruv, which is headquartered here and is making waves in the Indian spacetech industry, and I urge you to To consider it, even in your personal capacity, said Mr. Rao.

He also urged that the Center consider taking back Hyderabad as an information technology investment zone and approve two more electronic manufacturing clusters in the state.
