Turkey earthquake: Rescued cat refuses to leave man who saved him

The cat was now adopted by the rescuer himself.

The earthquake in Turkey and Syria has already killed more than 46,000 people and the number is rising every day. Nearly 2,64,000 apartments in Turkey were damaged by the earthquake and it has become a major challenge for rescuers to find people under the rubble. But he has fought against all odds to save his life. Several videos have emerged from the quake-hit country showing incredible human and animal rescues. A few days ago, a cat was rescued by a member of the Mardin Fire Department and now she won’t leave his side.

Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, shared the news on social media. He took to Twitter on February 16 and posted a video of the cat with the rescuer. It shows the cat named ‘Rubble’ sitting on the rescuer’s shoulder and hugging his face.

Yesterday, he shared another update regarding the cat and said that the cat has now been adopted by the rescuer himself. “I posted yesterday about a cat rescued from the rubble in Turkey who refused to leave the side of her rescuer. The rescuer’s name is Ali Kakas and he adopted the cat, named Enkaz – Turkey in “Wreck”. Have a happy life with them!” Mr Gerashchenko said in the caption.

Since being shared, the post has garnered over five million views and 1.7 lakh likes.
