Turkey, Uzbekistan to resume flights to Kabul; India has yet to decide on restarting services – Times of India

Kabul: International radar has reported a flight from Turkey and Uzbekistan Kabul International airport on Thursday. This comes even as the Indian government is yet to take a final decision on resuming flights to Kabul.

The Taliban recently requested India’s aviation regulator Directorate General (DGCA) to resume commercial flight operations to Kabul, which was suspended after August 15.

The Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) has also requested the Indian authorities to resume commercial flight services of Afghanistan’s national carrier between India and Kabul.
The letter sent from Civil Aviation of Afghanistan to Civil Aviation of India reads that Qatar’s technical team has activated Kabul International Airport and is now fully functional, Khama Press reported.
Currently, Pakistan and Iran are the only countries operating flights to and from Kabul International Airport.
Qatar is operating chartered flights only from the airport, Khama Press reported.
